Twitter suspended your new account and you can’t figure out why? There are several reasons why this could have happened and a few simple ways how you could’ve avoided a Twitter suspension altogether.

Twitter has rules for permanently suspending an account, and if you violate those rules and create new accounts, Twitter is going to find and suspend you again.

Here’s what a mail from Twitter looks like that clearly prohibits creating new accounts to bypass suspension of old accounts:

Your account, ABC has been suspended for violating the Twitter rules.

Specifically, for:

Violating our rules against evading permanent suspension.

Note that if you attempt to evade a permanent suspension by creating new accounts, we will suspend your new accounts. If you wish to appeal this suspension, please contact our support team.

Twitter takes its rules seriously and if you wish to have an account with Twitter, you need to give them priority too. One of the main reasons why Twitter punishes several Twitter accounts is because of their aggressive following and unfollowing of accounts. Twitter has warned several times of such practices, but if it continues to happen, they ban the Twitter account.

Reasons Why Your new Twitter Account got Suspended:

If Twitter has already suspended your account before then chances are high that it’s blocking your new accounts too. In fact, Twitter makes it really hard to open new accounts again if they’ve suspended your account once.

Your account has been suspended before:

Some things that you need to remember when creating a new account are:

  • Do not use the same IP address.
  • Avoid using same contact information like email address, phone numbers in your new Twitter account.
  • Do not use the same or similar Twitter handle like your previously suspended account.
  • Change personal information like name, date-of-birth.

These are some obvious data that Twitter can easily catch and suspend your account again.

You’ve violated any of their rules/policies:

If you’ve created a new account but your new account doesn’t comply with the Twitter rules, chances are your new account can be suspended.

Here are some of the rules that you could’ve violated while creating your new account:

  • Using any trademark in your Twitter profile. Twitter prohibits using anyone’s trademarks, business logo or name in any Twitter profile. Make sure to not use anyone’s identity (images, brand names) while creating your new account.
  • Adding any adult content or abusive content to your profile. If your images or profile pertains to content like nudity, violence, death, you may have your account suspended.

You should carefully go through all the Twitter rules to check for any violation by your account.

Final Words

If you’ve been following all the Twitter rules, chances are really low of Twitter suspending your account. If your account has still been suspended, you can file an appeal with Twitter and try to get your account unsuspended.
